The farm of Calsade

This family farm raises dairy cattle and a herd of AUBRAC cattle. It is located 3 km from Séverac-le-Château, in Aveyron.  The Séguin farm

This place is not to be forgotten when you visit La Canourgue! Also located in Séverac-le-Château, the Séguin farm is specialized in breeding dairy sheep and lambs. The owner offers tourists a guided tour, an opportunity to discover the wonders of the place. Young and old can see the animals up close and personal. The curious will have the privilege of finding the various stages of the manufacture of the cheese of ewe. If you arrive between 4:30 and 6:00 pm, you can watch the milking of the sheep on horseback. Finally, end your visit with a tasting of farm products. The Séguin farm produces 4 kinds of cheese made from raw ewe’s milk, namely

– Pitchounet : soft cheese with a natural rind;

The Saint-Frézal chapel

Here is another beautiful place to discover: the famous Saint-Frézal chapel. Located 1 km from the heart of the village of Canourgue, this historical monument is one of the oldest in the Gévaudan. Inside the chapel is a white sandstone sarcophagus containing the remains of Saint-Frézal, a bishop of Gévaudan in 820. Tapestries of the Confrérie de la Pouteille et du Manouls decorate the walls. Unfortunately, the visit can only be made during religious ceremonies and concerts. However, it is possible to observe the interior through the gates.

The tower of Chanac
